Installation Considerations 3-1Section 3: Installation ConsiderationsSafety Considerations For Fire Suppression System Equipped VehiclesIf the vehicle is equipped with fire suppression system, follow the depowering procedure listedbelow before starting to work on the vehicle. Make sure to repower the fire suppression systemafter the work on the vehicle is complete.Fire Suppression System DepoweringWARNING: The fire suppression system backup power supply must be depletedbefore lifting the vehicle or when installing components located near the fire suppressionmanual switch.To deplete the power backup supply, disconnect the battery and wait at least 1 minute. Besure to disconnect the auxiliary batteries and power supplies (if equipped). Failure to followthese instructions may result in personal injury.WARNING: To reduce the risk of accidental deployment, do not use any memorysaver devices. Failure to follow this instruction may result in personal injury.WARNING: If the vehicle is equipped with fire suppression system, be sure thatnobody is under the vehicle or near the rear axle area when the battery is connected due topossibility of an accidental fire suppression system deployment. Failure to follow theseinstructions may result in personal injury.Note:Note:The fire suppression system indicator lamp illuminates when the fire suppression module(FSM) fuse is removed and the ignition switch is ON. This is normal operation and doesnot indicate a fire suppression system fault.The fire suppression system must be fully operational and free of faults before releasingthe vehicle to the customer.1. Turn all vehicle accessories off.2. Turn the ignition key to the OFF position.3. Remove the central junction box (CJB) fuse 33 (10A). For additional information, refer to theOwner <strong>Guide</strong>.4. Turn the ignition key to the ON position and visually monitor the fire suppression systemindicator for at least 30 seconds. The fire suppression system indicator remains lit continuously(no flashing) if the correct FSM fuse has been removed.
