<strong>Oakwood</strong> Women's Healthcare Classic<br />
Friday, July 15, 2011 - Women's Healthcare Classic exceeds fundraising goal<br />
Dearborn, Mich. – June – A picture perfect day greeted the more than 200 golfers who gathered “fore” the<br />
19th annual Women’s Healthcare Classic on June 13.<br />
Proudly presented by Drs. Harris, Birkhill, Wang, Songe and Associates, P.C. the Women’s Healthcare Classic<br />
exceeded this year’s goal by generating more than $302,000 to support women’s programs throughout<br />
<strong>Oakwood</strong>.<br />
“The proceeds from this event significantly help in<br />
responding to the needs of women who might not<br />
otherwise be able to receive programs and services<br />
that could change the<br />
quality of their life,”<br />
said Carla O’Malley,<br />
executive director of<br />
the <strong>Oakwood</strong><br />
Foundation.<br />
Those services include:<br />
mammograms and<br />
heart screenings,<br />
finding shelter and<br />
support for victims of<br />
domestic violence and<br />
providing counseling<br />
for a high risk<br />
pregnancy. A portion of<br />
proceeds will be<br />
directed to the<br />
endowment for needy women’s programs, too.<br />
<strong>Oakwood</strong> was delighted to have Guy Gordon and<br />
Ashlee Baracy of WDIV Channel 4 emceeing the<br />
programs and sharing stories at the Dearborn<br />
