Oakwood Women's Healthcare Classic
Friday, July 15, 2011 - Women's Healthcare Classic exceeds fundraising goal
Dearborn, Mich. – June – A picture perfect day greeted the more than 200 golfers who gathered “fore” the
19th annual Women’s Healthcare Classic on June 13.
Proudly presented by Drs. Harris, Birkhill, Wang, Songe and Associates, P.C. the Women’s Healthcare Classic
exceeded this year’s goal by generating more than $302,000 to support women’s programs throughout
Oakwood.
“The proceeds from this event significantly help in
responding to the needs of women who might not
otherwise be able to receive programs and services
that could change the
quality of their life,”
said Carla O’Malley,
executive director of
the Oakwood
Foundation.
Those services include:
mammograms and
heart screenings,
finding shelter and
support for victims of
domestic violence and
providing counseling
for a high risk
pregnancy. A portion of
proceeds will be
directed to the
endowment for needy women’s programs, too.
Oakwood was delighted to have Guy Gordon and
Ashlee Baracy of WDIV Channel 4 emceeing the
programs and sharing stories at the Dearborn
