John Bauer, a Welcome Center greeter and<br />
trainer was recognized for his outstanding<br />
service to our patients. He received a Service<br />
Excellence award and took pictures with our<br />
SVP of Service Excellence Bryce Rosche and<br />
COO Joe Diederich of the <strong>Oakwood</strong><br />
Healthcare System. John has been mentioned<br />
by Heritage’s leadership team, and patients<br />
acknowledging him on our Press Ganey<br />
survey.<br />
<strong>Oakwood</strong> Southshore Medical Center <strong>Volunteer</strong><br />
Services recognition luncheon was held in the<br />
Nasir Auditorium and Community room on<br />
August 3 from 2 – 4 p.m. Our Southshore<br />
volunteer’s influence service and commitment by<br />
having a “patient comes first” attitude. Six<br />
volunteers received outstanding Service<br />
<strong>Oakwood</strong> Heritage<br />
Excellence awards and also took pictures with the<br />
VP of Service Excellence and Division President Edith Hughes. They were Helen Breil, Norma Horvath,<br />
Laura Carpeaux, Kay Cozzi, Patrick Doute, and Shirley Matthews.<br />
Both Norma and Helen received a “Take a Bow” award several months earlier. Helen was also<br />
recognized for her time and dedication as a Red Cross volunteer.<br />
Norma has helped with the coordination of the<br />
Tree of Lights (TOL) events for 10 years. She<br />
also provides support to Care Management<br />
and maintains hours for the auxiliary pins, etc.<br />
Laura is very organized and assists <strong>Volunteer</strong><br />
Services to help accomplish the department’s<br />
mission and goals. Kay is an Emergency<br />
Deparatment greeter and trainer that provides<br />
support to patients, family, emergency room<br />
staff, and training volunteers for the ED<br />
department. Without a doubt, Kay enjoys<br />
putting a smile on the many patients’ who she<br />
visits. Patrick is an Outpatient Imaging greeter<br />
