c. Effective November 2, 1999 through June 30, 2000, when employees arerequired to do business and obtain lodging in the counties <strong>of</strong> Alameda, SanFrancisco, San Mateo and Santa Clara, and Central and Western LosAngeles reimbursement will be for actual receipted lodging to a maximum <strong>of</strong>$110 plus applicable taxes. Central and Western Los Angeles is the territorybordered by Sunset Boulevard on the north, the Pacific Ocean on the West,Imperial Blvd/Freeway 105 on the South and Freeways 110, 10 and 101 onthe east. This area includes downtown L.A., Inglewood, L.A. InternationalAirport, Playa del Rey, Venice, Santa Monica, Brentwood, West L.A.,Westwood Village, Culver City, Beverly Hills, Century City, West Hollywoodand Hollywood.2. <strong>State</strong> Sponsored Conferences or Conventions: for receipted lodging whileattending <strong>State</strong> Sponsored conferences and conventions, when the lodging iscontracted by the <strong>State</strong> sponsor for the event, and the appointing authority hasgranted prior approval for attendance and lodging at the contracted rate andestablishment:<strong>State</strong>wide, <strong>with</strong> a lodging receipt: Actual lodging up to $110 plus applicable taxes.3. Non-<strong>State</strong> Sponsored Conferences or Conventions: for receipted lodgingwhile attending Non-<strong>State</strong> sponsored conferences and conventions, when thelodging is contracted by the sponsor for the event, and the appointing authority hasgranted prior approval for attendance and lodging at the contracted rate andestablishment:<strong>State</strong>wide, <strong>with</strong> a lodging receipt: Actual lodging when approved in advance by theappointing authority.Reimbursement <strong>of</strong> lodging expenses in excess <strong>of</strong> specified amounts, excludingtaxes requires advance written approval from DPA. DPA may delegate approvalauthority to departmental appointing powers or increase the lodging maximum ratefor the geographical area and period <strong>of</strong> time deemed necessary to meet the needs<strong>of</strong> the <strong>State</strong>. An employee may not claim lodging, meal or incidental expenses<strong>with</strong>in 50 miles <strong>of</strong> his/her home or headquarters.C. Long-term Travel: Actual expenses for long term meals and receipted lodging will bereimbursed when the employee incurs expenses in one location comparable to thosearising from the use <strong>of</strong> establishments catering to the long-term visitor.1. Full Long-term Travel: In order to qualify for full long-term travel reimbursement,the employee on long-term field assignment must meet the following criteria:The employee continues to maintain a permanent residence at the primaryheadquarters, andThe permanent residence is occupied by the employee’s dependents, orThe permanent residence is maintained at a net expense to the employeeexceeding $200 per month.
