This section shall only apply to state employees who retire for service.e. Benefits provided to an employee subject to this shall be applicable to allfuture state service.f. For purposes of this section “state service” shall mean service rendered asan employee or an appointed or elected officer of the state for compensation.In those cases where the state assumes or has assumed from a publicagency a function and the related personnel, service rendered by thepersonnel for compensation as employees or appointed or elected officers ofthat local public agency shall not be credited, at retirement, as state servicefor the purposes of this section, unless the former employer has paid oragreed to pay the state agency the amount actuarially determined to equalthe cost for any employee health benefits which were vested at the time thatthe function and the related personnel were assumed by the state. For noncontractinglocal public agencies the state department shall certify thecompleted years of local agency service to be credited to the employee tothe Public Employees’ Retirement System at the time of separation forretirement.g. Whenever the state contracts to assume a local public agency function,completed years of service rendered by the personnel for compensation asemployees or appointed or elected officers of the local public agency shall becredited as state service only upon a finding by the Department of Financethat the contract contains a benefit factor sufficient to reimburse the state forthe amount necessary to fully compensate the state for post retirementhealth benefit costs for those personnel.h. This section shall not apply to employees of the California State Universityor the Legislature.1. Contribution24BU 12(99-01)
a. From July 1, 1999 to July 31, 1999, the State agrees to pay the followingcontribution for dental benefits. To be eligible for this contribution, anemployee must positively enroll in a dental plan administered by DPA.(1) The State shall pay $24.37 per month for coverage of an eligibleemployee.(2) The State shall pay $45.82 per month for coverage of an eligibleemployee plus one dependent.(3) The State shall pay $67.95 per month for coverage of an eligibleemployee plus two or more dependents.b. From August 1, 1999 to June 30, 2001, the State agrees to pay thefollowing contributions for dental benefits. To be eligible for this contribution,an employee must positively enroll in a dental plan administered by DPA.2. Employee Eligibility(1) The State shall pay $30.70 per month for coverage of an eligibleemployee(2) The State shall pay $55.60 per month for coverage of an eligibleemployee plus one dependent.(3) The State shall pay $81.38 per month for coverage of an eligibleemployee plus two or more dependents.(4) The employee will pay any premium amount for the dental plan inexcess of the State’s contribution, except that the employee’s shareof the cost shall not exceed $25 of the total premium.Employee eligibility for dental benefits will be the same as that prescribed forhealth benefits under subsection B.1.3.
