2.22 Fire Mission PayA. Each employee in the classification <strong>of</strong> Material and Stores Specialist and HeavyEquipment Mechanic in the Department <strong>of</strong> Forestry and Fire Protection shall receive a FireMission pay differential <strong>of</strong> 1 pay step and 2 pay steps respectively when fire season isdeclared for the employee’s ranger unit. Fire Mission pay shall be effective upon the firstday for which fire season is declared in the employee’s ranger unit and shall continue untilfire season ends for the employee’s ranger unit.B. During the period for which the employee is receiving the Fire Mission differential he/sheshall remain available on regular workdays to be called back to work on short notice if theneed arises.C. Each Ranger <strong>Unit</strong> Chief or designee may establish procedures <strong>with</strong> regard to howcontact is to be made (e.g. electronic paging device, phone) and <strong>with</strong> regard to responsetime while on immediate response status. Employees shall be expected to respond to thephone call or page <strong>with</strong>in 30 minutes. Compensable time shall commence when theemployee begins his/her travel to the work site or other location designated by theemployer.D. For purposes <strong>of</strong> this section, employees shall be compensated in accordance <strong>with</strong> theOvertime Compensation provision <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Unit</strong> <strong>12</strong> MOU if their time is restricted by theemployer in order that they may be available for immediate response during <strong>of</strong>f-duty hours.ARTICLE 3 - HEALTH AND WELFARE3.1 Health , Dental, VisionA. Program Description1. Contribution Amountsa. From July 1, 1999 to December 31, 1999, the <strong>State</strong> agrees to pay thefollowing contribution for health benefits. To be eligible for this contribution,an employee must positively enroll in a health plan administered or approvedby PERS.(1) The <strong>State</strong> shall pay $174.00 per month for coverage <strong>of</strong> an eligibleemployee.(2) The <strong>State</strong> shall pay $329.00 per month for coverage <strong>of</strong> anemployee plus one dependent.(3) The <strong>State</strong> shall pay $418.00 per month for coverage <strong>of</strong> an eligibleemployee plus two or more dependents.b. From January 1, 2000 to June 30, 2001, the <strong>State</strong> agrees to pay thefollowing contribution for health benefits. To be eligible for this contribution,an employee must positively enroll in a health plan administered or approvedby PERS.(1) The <strong>State</strong> shall pay $174.00 per month for coverage <strong>of</strong> an eligibleemployee.(2) The <strong>State</strong> shall pay $346.00 per month for coverage <strong>of</strong> anemployee plus one dependent.22BU <strong>12</strong>(99-01)
