B. Full-time <strong>Unit</strong> <strong>12</strong> employees who are required to possess a Pest Control AdvisorCertificate (PCAC), as defined in Department <strong>of</strong> Pesticide Regulation, and possess thePCAC <strong>with</strong> the appropriate specialty, and are registered in the county in which the dutiesare performed, shall receive a monthly differential <strong>of</strong> $75.C. Employing Departments will identify the positions requiring the certificates identified in“A” and “B” above. Assignment <strong>of</strong> employees to pest control duties shall be at theemployer’s discretion and may not be grieved or arbitrated.D. An employee whose required certificate identified in “A” and “B” above is revoked or notrenewed for any reason or who is not performing the required duties satisfactorily, may besubject to administrative transfer to a position not requiring the identified certificate. Anemployee so transferred will cease to be eligible for the differential as described above.E. The employer will reimburse the employee for filing, examination, and renewal feesassociated <strong>with</strong> obtaining the appropriate QAC provided:1. the employee is in a position requiring a QAC/PCAC, and2. the employee is authorized in advance by the immediate supervisor to take theexam or renew the certification, and3. The employee successfully passes the required examination and is issued thecertificate.F. Employees in classes which require the QAC/PCAC as a minimum qualification are noteligible for this differential.G. Less than full-time employees shall receive the QAC/PCAC differential on a pro-ratabasis.2.19 Water and/or Wastewater Operator Certificate DifferentialA. Department <strong>of</strong> Parks and Recreation full-time employees who are assigned to waterand/or waste water duties requiring operator certification(s) by either the Department <strong>of</strong>Health Services or the <strong>State</strong> Water Resources Control Board, and possess the appropriategrade and type <strong>of</strong> operator certification(s) to perform the duties, shall receive a 5%differential each month as calculated at the maximum <strong>of</strong> each class.B. Department <strong>of</strong> Water Resources employees who are assigned as part <strong>of</strong> their duties tooperate a water treatment plant, shall possess and maintain all licenses/certificates <strong>of</strong> theappropriate grade and type required to operate the plant. Employees who are required topossess such licenses/certificates shall receive a 5% differential each month as calculatedat the maximum <strong>of</strong> each class.C. Positions requiring operator certification(s) identified in “A” and “B” above will beidentified by the Department(s) as requiring the appropriate grade and type <strong>of</strong> water and/orwastewater systems shall be at the employer’s discretion and is not grievable or arbitrable.D. Where required to be certified as identified in “A” and “B” above by the Department(s), anemployee who successfully obtains the required operator certificate(s) will be reimbursed forfiling and examination fees associated <strong>with</strong> obtaining and maintaining the appropriate waterand/or wastewater operator certificate(s).19BU <strong>12</strong>(99-01)
