I. COMPENSATION1. Once an employee on standby status receives notice to return to work, work timewill start from the time the employee arrives at his/her headquarters or <strong>State</strong> vehiclestorage site and work time ends at the time he/she returns to their headquarters orvehicle storage site.2. Any TD employees assigned to standby for a seven (7) consecutive day period,week days from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. (15 hours) and weekend days from 8:00 a.m.to 8:00 a.m. the next day (24 hours) will receive effective July 1, 1999, compensation<strong>of</strong> ten (10) hours <strong>of</strong> straight pay. Effective July 1, 2000, this compensation will beincreased to twelve (<strong>12</strong>) hours <strong>of</strong> straight pay. If an employee does not work one ormore <strong>of</strong> their standby shifts, their compensation will be reduced a prorated amount.Any TD employee assigned to standby during a week when a holiday(s) occurs willreceive an additional eight 98) hours <strong>of</strong> compensation for each holiday, excludingpersonal holidays. Holidays are those defined in Article 8B <strong>of</strong> <strong>Unit</strong> <strong>12</strong> MOU and any<strong>of</strong>ficial <strong>State</strong> holidays declared by the Governor.3. If an employee does not work one or more <strong>of</strong> their standby shifts, theircompensation will be reduced a prorated amount.4. If an employee on standby is called out as defined in Article 7.8, <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Unit</strong> <strong>12</strong>MOU, then article 7.8 will be in effect and the employee will not lose his/her standbypay.5. The <strong>State</strong> retains the right to compensate Standby time by either cash or CTO.6. The TD will permit an employee under the provisions <strong>of</strong> this agreement to chooseup to 40 hours <strong>of</strong> compensation in the form <strong>of</strong> CTO credit in a Fiscal Year.<strong>12</strong>5BU <strong>12</strong>(99-01)
