Cardell® MAX-12HD User’s ManualThe widest cuff that can be placed on the patient, without extending beyond thejoint, should be selected. Appropriate sized cuffs may be selected based onpublished guidelines that cuff width should be 40 – 60% of limbcircumference. The cuff should be wrapped for a snug fit. Overlapping the cuffwill not affect measurement results. Make sure the hook and loop sections ofthe cuff are fully engaged when it is wrapped around the limb. If not fullyengaged, the cuff will detach during bladder inflation. If that happens, selectthe next size bigger cuff. Adhesive tape or other material should not be used tosecure the cuff. Use the following table as a guide to select the correct size.References:Pedersen KM, Butler MA, Ersboll AK, Pedersen HD (2002).
