I also bought a backpack. From that point, I left theU.S. on an 18-month around-the-world trip that spanned from the jungles of Fiji to the ice packs of New Zealand, to the deserts ofUzbekistan. I wore my Lowa boots every day and when they weren’t on my feet they were strapped to the back of my pack. In that18 months I went through 11 pairs of sandals, and two pairs of tennis shoes, but my LOWAs kept going. I’vebeen back in the states for more than two years now, and after buying new laces for them, they still sit inmy closet and go with me whenever I hike, camp, or venture out into the snow. They have been soaked incountless rivers, frozen on more than a few mountainsides, and filled with oozing muck more times than I cancount, and they look practically new to this day. I’ve never seen a tougher, better built boot, and I tell allmy buddies that if they want good foot gear, there’s only one choice: Lowa.I’m considering buying a new pair this year, but it’s a hard choice to make when my old ones still get thejob done. Amazing. You guys are the best! Have a great new year.Sincerely,Derek P.The LOWA Fit

That’s a good thing for LOWA, because once women try our boots, they usually become fiercely loyalto our brand. Why such loyalty? She wears Renegades and Klondikes, and calls them “sexy in a weird way.”Here are a few examples of the special little details that make LOWA boots truly women-specific.- C4 padded tongue is comfy over the instep. (Remember, comfort is the #1 factor that femalecustomers look for in a boot.)- Comfort cuffs and Comfort “spoilers” provide softer, contoured padding to accommodate the backof the Achilles and ankle areas- Achilles areas are “notched” down to accommodate back of ankle- Glove leather on tongue (on non-GTX boots) and extra padding for maximum comfort on the instep- Specific boots use a soft glove leather in the upper cuff for a comfortable fit about the ankle area- Flexible soles for easier walking and hiking- Female-specific lasts which are narrow in the heel, higher in the arch and wider at the ballDid you know that women have:- Narrower heels - Proportionally wider forefeet - Higher arches which can create sensitive areason the top of the instep - Lower calves and Achilles tendons - Less padding than men’s feetComfort Cuff andComfort Spoilersprovide softer, contouredpadding to accommodatethe back of the Achillesand ankle areas.Dear LOWA...I love the Mira boots. The very firsttime I had them on, we hiked up a mountain2.5 miles and back. I would have hesitatedto try that with another brand, but I hadconfidence in Lowa’s.From the beginning, the boots werecomfortable and fit like a glove. They providedexcellent traction, and after our four hour hike,my feet felt great. I can’t say enough goodthings about them.I wore my other pair of Lowa hiking bootsto a wedding last weekend ... how versatileis that? Thanks again, we LOVE Lowa!Regards,Carey K.Girl Power
