the lowa fit: the aaaah factorSometimes it’s important to state the obvious: Customers want boots that FIT! It’s a “Top 3” factorin why they choose the boots they do. LOWA has earned a worldwide reputation for “out of the boxcomfort” and superior fit. Our last (the form on which we build our boots) is one of the secrets to this -we’ve spent decades compiling data on literally millions of different feet. The result is a last design thatfits a very broad range of feet.The LOWA last is made to the SATRA standard which is a worldwide standard. It’s not improvised likeother brands that use generic lasts in Asian factories.Recently, LOWA did a sizing comparison between 3 women’s boots (2 from the “M” brands and 1Tempest Lo). What we found is:- Although all the standards (SATRA and Brannock) show a 1.5 size change from UK to US sizes,the two “M” brands used a 2.5 size change to get there. And even with that, they still haveshorter inner lengths than LOWA.- An inconsistency in sizes between the two “M” brands (At one size, “M2” is bigger than “M1”,and is then smaller than “M1” at the next size.
