the construction processRanding- Hand wrapping rands is a costly process that canonly be done by hand.- The boot is prepared by sanding the bottom sidewalls, then applying the adhesive and wrappingthe rubber rand by hand. Finally, a special machinepresses the rubber rand to the boot upper.Attaching the midsole/outsole to the upperCemented: The midsole and upper are glued togetherand then cemented with adhesive to the upper.Cemented outsoles can be re-soled by a cobbler.Direct Injection: The upper is placed into an injectionmachine and the sole is placed on the bottom of themachine’s mold. PU is injected into the mold, joiningthe upper and sole together. This encapsulates theshank and bonds all the pieces together.Dear LOWA...Dear LOWA,I recently purchased a pair of Lowa Renegade Mid IIs. They are by far the best boots I haveever worn!!!I just came back from my first hike in them. Not too long, about 4 miles or so. The trailhad a mix of conditions: sand, dirt, mud, rock, deadfall, etc. The Renegades plowed right throughit! I have bad feet, thanks to having no arch and bad ankles. The Renegades supported my feetand ankles through the whole hike! I was wondering if my feet would ever hurt. They didn’t! It’sgreat to know that I have finally found a boot that suits my needs. The construction is excellent. The boots held my feet and didn’t let them move. There is noslippage, the cushioning is superb and the treads grip like glue. Several times, I deliberately hikeddown several slick rock faces. I may as well have grown roots. My feet stayed where I plantedthem.I’m hoping to put many more miles on these boots. But, if I ever do need to purchase anotherpair, it will be Lowa! All the best!Dave S.14Construction Process
