Director <strong>Thomas</strong>will fill the seat formerly held by Ergun Bakall, who resigned last month.Director <strong>Thomas</strong> will represent the areas <strong>of</strong> Tustin, Irvine, Mission Viejo,Rancho Santa Margarita, San Clemente and unincorporated areas <strong>of</strong> OrangeCounty.“Jeff <strong>Thomas</strong> has the leadership, experience and commitment that we werelooking for,” Wayne Clark, President <strong>of</strong> <strong>MWDOC</strong>, commented. “He hasexperience in Orange County water issues and will be a welcome addition tothe <strong>MWDOC</strong> board.”Over the last seventeen years, Mr. <strong>Thomas</strong> has held numerous electedpositions in Orange County, including Tustin City Council and three-timeMayor. He has been appointed to a number <strong>of</strong> positions including Chair <strong>of</strong>Orange County’s Treasury Oversight Committee, and he currently serves onthe Investment Advisory Committee <strong>of</strong> Cal Optima in Orange County. Jeff<strong>Thomas</strong> is no stranger to water issues in Orange County, as he served twelveyears as Director <strong>of</strong> the Tustin <strong>Water</strong> Agency. During his tenure, theyfinanced and constructed the 17 th Street Desalter and rebuilt four reservoirsthat serve more than 50,000 residents <strong>of</strong> Tustin, Santa Ana and North Tustin.-- more --


<strong>Thomas</strong> Named to <strong>MWDOC</strong> Board2-2-2-2Director <strong>Thomas</strong> attended California State University at Fullerton and received hisBachelors Degree in Political Science. He received his Juris Doctorate from WesternState University. He is married to wife Lisa and they have two children.
