Nonetheless, Tapana Misra has beenvery kind to me, for he speaks about topics relating to Lord KrQa.PURPORTThe six philosophical treatises are: (1) vaiseika, propounded by Kar:tada i, (2)nyaya, propounded by Gautama i, (3) yoga or mysticism, propounded byPatafijali i, (4) the philosophy of sankhya, propounded by Kapila i, (5) the philosophyof karma-mimarhsa, propounded by jaimini i, and (6) the philosophy ofbrahma-mimarhsa, or Vedanta, the ultimate conclusion of the Absolute Truth (janmadyasya yata/:1), propounded by Vedavyasa. Actually Vedanta philosophy ismeant for the devotees because in Bhagavad-gita Lord Krr:ta says, vedanta-krdveda-vid eva caham: "I am the compiler of Vedanta, and I am the knower of theVedas." (Bg. 15.15) Vyasadeva is an incarnation of Krr:ta, and consequently Krr:tais the compiler of Vedanta philosophy. Therefore Krr:ta clearly knows the purportof Vedanta philosophy. As stated in Bhagavad-gita, whoever hears Vedanta philosophyfrom Krr:ta is actually aware of the real meaning of Vedanta. TheMayavadis who have called themselves Vedantists do not at all understand thepurport of Vedanta philosophy.
