Text 96] The lord Travels to Vrndavana 49advancing toward the perfectional platform (sadhaka). The sadhakas are graduallybecoming free from fruitive reaction. Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu (1.1.17) describesthe symptoms of bhakti-yoga thus:klesa-ghni subhada mok?alaghutakrtsudur/abhasandrananda-vise?iitmasri-k(?Qiikar?iQi ca saDevotional service is k/esa-ghni even for beginners. This means that it reduces ornullifies all kinds of suffering. The word subhada indicates that devotional servicebestows all good fortune, and the words kr?Qa-akar?iQi indicate that devotionalservice gradually attracts Krt:a toward the devotee. Consequently a devotee isnot subject to any sinful reaction. In Bhagavad-gita (18.66) Krt:a says:sarva-dharman parityajyamam ekarh saraQarh vrajaaharh tvarh sarva-papebhyomok?ayi?yiimi ma sucal)"Abandon all varieties of religion and just surrender unto Me. I shall deliver youfrom all sinful reaction. Do not fear."Thus a fully surrendered, sincere devotee immediately receives relief from allkinds of sinful reaction. There are three stages of fructification for sinful activity. At one stage, one commits the sinful act. Before that, the seed of this act exists, and before that there is ignorance whereby one commits the sin. Suffering is involvedin all three stages. However, Krt:a is merciful to His devotee, and consequentlyHe immediately nullifies all three stages-the sin, the seed of sin and theignorance that leads one to sin. Padma Purii.Qa confirms this:aprarabdha-pha/arh paparhkutarh bijarh phalonmukhamkrameQaiva praliyetavi?Qu-bhakti-ratatmanamFor a further explanation of this, The Nectar of Devotion should be consulted.TEXT 96 ,i{·
