350 Sri Caitanya-caritamrta [Madhya-lila, Ch. 19of all. Bhagavad-gita is spoken by the Lord so that human society can be perfectlyorganized from all angles of vision-politically, socially, economically, philosophicallyand religiously. From any point of view, human society can be reformed bythe Krl)a consciousness movement; therefore one who spreads this philosophyof Krl)a consciousness for the benefit of all conditioned souls in the universe isperfect in pure devotional service. The criterion is that a devotee must know what Krl)a wants him to do. This canbe achieved through the medium of the spiritual master who is a bona fide representativeof Krl)a. SrTia ROpa GosvamT advises, adau gurv-asrayam. One who isserious in wanting to render pure devotional service to the Lord must take shelterof the spiritual master who comes in the disciplic succession from Krl)a. Evarhparampara-praptam imarh rajar?ayo vidu/:1. Without accepting a bona fide spiritualmaster coming in the disciplic succession, one cannot find out the real purpose ofdevotional service. Therefore one has to accept the shelter of a bona fide spiritualmaster and agree to be directed by him. The first business of a pure devotee is tosatisfy his spiritual master, whose only business is to spread Krl)a consciousness.Yasya prasadad bhagavat-prasada/:1: if one can satisfy the spiritual master, Krl)a isautomatically satisfied. This is the success of devotional service. This is the meaningof the word anukulyena-that is, favorable devotional service to the Lord. Apure devotee has no plans other than those for the Lord's service. He is not interestedin attaining success in mundane activities. He simply wants success in theprogress of devotional service. For a devotee, there cannot be worship of othersor demigod worship. A pure devotee does not engage himself in such pseudodevotionalservice. He is interested only in satisfying Krl)a. If one lives only for thesatisfaction of Krl)a, he does not have to accept this order or that order. One'sonly business should be to satisfy Krl)a. This process is completely manifest in theactivities of the Krl)a consciousness movement. It has been actually proved thatthe entire world can accept devotional service without failure. One simply has tofollow the instructions of the representative of Krl)a.TEXT 168Q·tU!1, ;JJ· it' '', '"Sl' I
