72 Sri Caitanya-caritam!'fa [Madhya-lila, Ch. 17TRANSLATION"The holy name of Krr;a, His body and His pastimes cannot be understoodby blunt material senses. They are manifest independently.PURPORTThe transcendental body of Krr)a, His name, form, qualities, pastimes and entourageall constitute the Absolute Truth and are as good as Krt:a (sac-cidananda-vigraha).As long as the living entity is conditioned by the three modes ofmaterial nature-(goodness, passion and ignorance)-the objects of his materialsenses-material form, taste, smell, sound and touch-will not help him understandspiritual knowledge and bliss. Rather, these are revealed to the pure devotee. One's material name, form and qualities are certainly different from oneanother. In the material world, there is no conception of absolute; however, whenwe come to Krt:a consciousness we find that there is no material difference betweenKrt:a's body and His names, activities and entourage.TEXT 135"'t1f, ?•'!, "1l"f II "51-ll-ll
