84Prior permission of Bar Council of India.“7A. (1) No law college or a law department of auniversity or any other institution, after the commencement of theAdvocates (Amendment) Act, 2003, shall offer or impartinstruction in a course of study in law which will lead toenrolment as an advocate, and no student shall be admitted to anysuch course unless prior permission for starting such course hasbeen granted by the Bar Council of India.Provided that any permission or approval for its affiliationgiven by the Bar Council of India under the Bar Council of IndiaRules, prior to the commencement of the Advocates(Amendment)Act, 2003, shall be deemed to be a permission granted under thissub-section.(2) No law college or a law department of a University orany other institution shall continue to impart instructionin a course of study in law leading to enrolment as anAdvocate, and no student shall be admitted thereto if thepermission granted under sub-section (1) has beenwithdrawn by the Bar Council of India.(3) Any fees or amount by whatever named called collectedfrom any person towards admission in violation of theprovisions of sub-section (1) and (2) shall be refunded.(4) Any violation of provision of sub-sections (1) and (2)shall be an offence punishable under section 45A.
