<strong>LACCD</strong>’s Current Structured Cabling Systems Contractors<strong>LACCD</strong> currently uses a wide variety of structured cabling contractors with unknowncapabilities, industry and manufacturer certification, and systems warranty offerings.<strong>LACCD</strong> seeks to better define this service to gain efficiencies in architecture adherence,performance, documentation and extended warranty.<strong>LACCD</strong>’s Future Vision for Structured Cabling Systems ContractorsSuccessful respondents to this <strong>RFQ</strong> will facilitate <strong>LACCD</strong>’s goal of establishing a poolof pre-qualified contractors to bid on future structured cabling solution projectsthroughout the <strong>LACCD</strong> District. Contractors will competitively bid on projects based onpre-established criteria and performance level requirements. This model will resultefficiencies amongst the following general areas: Competitive bidding based on quality and performance Uniform Structured Cabling Systems throughout the District Readily available documentation and “as-builts” Design and Implementation consistency Moves, adds and changes (MAC) Extended Warranty & Support1.2 Overview.The Los Angeles Community College District, “District,” is modernizing and improving its (9)nine colleges to ensure that Los Angeles residents are trained with the skills needed to fill jobs ofthe 21 st century.
