Udaka-vdrako ti, udakaussihcana-vdrako.Udakan ti kho ndnam assa ti, tire thitassa olokayato evam hdnambhaveyyd. Na ca kdyena phassitva ti, udakam pana niharitva, kdyena phassitva, viharitumna sakuneyya. Udapdne udaka-dassanam viya hi andgdmino nibbdna-dassanam. Ghammdbhitatta-purisoviya andgdmi. Udaka-vdrako viya arahatta-maggo. Yatha ghammdbhitatta-purisoudapdne udakam passati, evam andgdmi paccavekkhana-ndnena upariarahatta-phaldbhisamayo nama atthi ti jdndti. Yatha pana so puriso udaka-vdrakassan'atthitdya udakam niharitva kdyena phassitum na labhati, evam andgdmi arahatta-maggassari'atthitdya, nibbdnam drammanam katvd, arahatta-phala-samdpattim appetva nisiditumna labhati ti—Spk. II, 122-23).
