Subjects <strong>of</strong> Meditation 217the teaching <strong>of</strong> the supernormal power <strong>of</strong> resolve in full. 1Supernormal power <strong>of</strong> resolve has ended.%SUPERNORMAL POWER OF TRANSFORMATIONNow the yogin, wishing to acquire the supernormal power <strong>of</strong> transformation,practises the four bases <strong>of</strong> supernormal power. He gets control <strong>of</strong> themind. He makes his body easy in his mind; and he makes his mind easy inhis body. He makes his mind easy with his body; and he makes his body easywith his mind. He resolves upon his mind with his body; and he resolvesupon his body with his mind. The perception <strong>of</strong> bliss and the perception <strong>of</strong>lightness adhere to his body. In that he abides. Practising thus that yoginreaches the acme <strong>of</strong> lightness, making his body exceedingly pliant and reachesthe capacity-limit <strong>of</strong> resolve, even as an iron ball made red-hot is capable <strong>of</strong>being fashioned into any shape easily. Thus having through mental culturemade his mind pliant and capable <strong>of</strong> resolve, he resolves to fill his body withhis mind. If that yogin wishes to take the form <strong>of</strong> a boy, he, discarding hisform, enters the fourth meditation, jhana, and rising from it peacefully changesinto the form <strong>of</strong> a boy, gradually. In changing his body, he resolves throughknowledge: "May I fulfil the form <strong>of</strong> a boy!". Thus resolving, he can fulfilthe form <strong>of</strong> a boy. In the same way in changing into the form <strong>of</strong> a snake or <strong>of</strong>a garulq, a yakkha, an asura, or into the form <strong>of</strong> Sakka-Inda or Brahma, theocean, a mountain, a forest, a lion, a tiger, a leopard, an elephant, a horse,infantry, groups <strong>of</strong> an army, he resolves through knowledge thus: "May Ifulfil the form <strong>of</strong> infantry!".
