<strong>Bequest</strong>s – Leaving a gift in your willLeaving a <strong>Bequest</strong> in your Will is one way tomake <strong>the</strong> type of gift you may not be able tomake during your lifetime.Leaving a gift in your Will to CQ<strong>University</strong>is one of <strong>the</strong> most thoughtful ways tobenefit <strong>the</strong> community through a gift for<strong>the</strong> future. Your gift shows forethought,planning and community commitment.<strong>Bequest</strong>s provide long-ter mbenefits for future generations.Making a <strong>Bequest</strong>A bequest in your will, allows you to retain full use of your assets during your lifetimeand still make a significant gift to <strong>the</strong> <strong>University</strong> through your Will.Sometimes called <strong>the</strong> ‘ultimate gift’, a bequest in your will can take severalforms. It can specify a dollar amount, a percentage of your estate, or <strong>the</strong>remainder of your estate once expenses and gifts to family and loved ones havebeen distributed and may include cash, securities, real estate, insurance policiesor personal property.<strong>Bequest</strong>s can be made with a specific purpose to reflect your personal interest. Theycan also be made without a designated purpose so that <strong>the</strong>y assist with <strong>the</strong> <strong>University</strong>’spriorities at <strong>the</strong> time. This allows greater flexibility and a way for <strong>the</strong> <strong>University</strong> tomeet future needs. The <strong>University</strong> will always follow <strong>the</strong> wishes of <strong>the</strong> person making abequest wherever possible.The only satisfaction we can get from our possessions beyond our lifespan issavouring <strong>the</strong> good our contributions will do.
