Bequests – Leaving a gift in your willLeaving a Bequest in your Will is one way tomake the type of gift you may not be able tomake during your lifetime.Leaving a gift in your Will to CQUniversityis one of the most thoughtful ways tobenefit the community through a gift forthe future. Your gift shows forethought,planning and community commitment.Bequests provide long-ter mbenefits for future generations.Making a BequestA bequest in your will, allows you to retain full use of your assets during your lifetimeand still make a significant gift to the University through your Will.Sometimes called the ‘ultimate gift’, a bequest in your will can take severalforms. It can specify a dollar amount, a percentage of your estate, or theremainder of your estate once expenses and gifts to family and loved ones havebeen distributed and may include cash, securities, real estate, insurance policiesor personal property.Bequests can be made with a specific purpose to reflect your personal interest. Theycan also be made without a designated purpose so that they assist with the University’spriorities at the time. This allows greater flexibility and a way for the University tomeet future needs. The University will always follow the wishes of the person making abequest wherever possible.The only satisfaction we can get from our possessions beyond our lifespan issavouring the good our contributions will do.
