Simulator Configuration GuideChapter 1: Using Synopsys Models with SimulatorsUsing Hardware Models with DifferentSimulatorsAfter you install your hardware modeling system, the final task is to link your simulatorwith the Synopsys Simulator Function Interface (SFI). Procedures for linking thesimulator with the SFI are specific to the particular simulator.Linking Other Supported SimulatorsBecause many hardware modeling features are provided through the SFI software, thefunctionality of your environment is determined by the version of the SFI that isintegrated with your simulator. Some simulators can be dynamically or statically linkedon site with the most recent SFI. For the current list of simulators and versions that aresupported for dynamic or static linking on site with the SFI, refer to Hardware ModelingSupported Platforms and Simulators.If you use one of the simulators on this list, you can link your simulator with the mostrecent version of the SFI libraries on the distribution media, allowing you to takeadvantage of the latest hardware modeling system software enhancements and bugfixes. Some simulators have additional requirements. For information, refer to yoursimulator vendor’s documentation.If you use a simulator that is not on the list, consult your simulator vendor about whichversion of the SFI has been integrated with your simulator. Depending on the version ofthe SFI, you should be able to install and use the most recent Runtime ModelerSoftware, although you may not be able to take advantage of all hardware modelingsystem software enhancements and fixes.IKOS VoyagerFor information on this interface, refer to the Voyager/LM Hardware Interface chapterof the Voyager Series User’s Guide, Volume 4.Do not install the hardware modeling system software under the $VOYAGER_HOMEdirectory, or files could be overwritten and the installation corrupted. The IKOS-createdsms directory (under $VOYAGER_HOME) and the Synopsys-created sms directorymust be kept separate.Teradyne LASARYou can dynamically link the SFI with LASAR.
