Simulator Configuration GuideChapter 1: Using Synopsys Models with SimulatorsTable 5: DesignWare Memory Model SWIFT Parameters (Continued)Parameter Usage Valid Values, Examples, &DefaultsMemoryFileMessageLevelUse this parameter to specify the file nameof a memory image file to load atsimulation startup for a model instance.Use this parameter to control the type ofmessages issued by the model instanceduring simulation. In general, the higher the decimal numberyou specify, the more messages you get. Each message type has an associateddecimal value. Add the decimal valuestogether for all the message types that youwant the model to generate, and use thatnumber to configure the MessageLevelparameter. Here are the decimal values forthe different types of messages:Message Type Decimal ValueError 1Warning 2Timing 4X-handling 8Info 16Total ............................. 31This file must be a simple text file inthe Synopsys memory image file(MIF) format or Verilog $readmemhformat. Specify the file name in aquoted string.Example: “./mem.dat”Default: None. If you don’t specifya MemoryFile, this feature isdisabled.Note: The default value in themodel wrapper file is “.”, which justmeans that this feature is off.Valid values are positive integersbetween 1 and 31 within quotedstrings that represent the decimalvalues of the bit mask for eachmessage type.Examples: For example, set thisparameter to “11” to enable Error(1), Warning (2), and X-handling(8) messages.Or, set this parameter to “5” toenable just Error (1) and Timing (4)messages.Default: “15”.The default value of “15” causes themodels to generate messages inthese categories:Error (1)Warning (2)Timing (4)X-handling (8)Info messages are disabled bydefault. To enable them, add thedecimal value 16 to your sum forthis parameter.Note: Fatal messages are alwaysenabled.October 6, 2003 Synopsys, Inc. 31
