Simulator Configuration GuideChapter 9: Using VERA with Synopsys ModelsCreating a VERA List FileTo simulate your design with VERA, you need to specify the VERA object files to loadat simulation runtime. While VERA offers several mechanisms you can use for this (seeyour VERA documentation), this section uses a “VERA list file” that lists the paths ofthe VERA object files to load at runtime. (See your VERA manual for informationabout the various methods available for specifying VERA object files to load.)The following is an example of a typical VERA list file:./lstmodel.vro./mempromodel.vro./vera_testbench.vroTo use a VERA list file, you must provide your simulator with the path to the file. Theway you do this depends on your simulator:●●Some simulators support a command-line switch that lets you identify the path tothe list file when you invoke the simulator.Other simulators use a file named “vera.ini” to identify the path to the list file. Thevera.ini file must reside in the directory from which you invoke your simulator. Here is a typical vera.ini file:vera_mload=path_to_vera_list_fileTable 34 lists the simulators supported by DWMM, and the mechanism to use for eachto communicate the VERA list file path to the simulator.Table 34: VERA List File Path MechanismsSimulatorMTI VHDLMTI VerilogNC-VHDLNC-VLOGSciroccoVCSList File MechanismUse a vera.ini file.Use this command-line switch: +vera_mload=path_to_vera_list_fileUse a vera.ini file.Use this command-line switch: +vera_mload=path_to_vera_list_fileUse a vera.ini file.Use this command-line switch: +vera_mload=path_to_vera_list_fileOctober 6, 2003 Synopsys, Inc. 243
