<strong>Simulator</strong> <strong>Configuration</strong> <strong>Guide</strong>Chapter 7: Using QuickSim II with <strong>Synopsys</strong> <strong>Models</strong>DWMM Custom Symbols<strong>Synopsys</strong> provides symbols representing a simple pin interface <strong>for</strong> DWMMs. However,in some situations you may need to create custom symbols:●●●To con<strong>for</strong>m to internal drafting requirements.To match external drafting specifications (<strong>for</strong> example, military specifications).To make a symbol match a component’s pinout.To create custom symbols, you can do the following:● Modify a standard DWMM symbol. Start with the DWMM symbol and modify itto match your drafting requirements. The value of the user PIN property can now bechanged without corrupting the value of the compiled PIN property.● Create a new symbol. Create a symbol with your pin values, find thecorresponding pin names used by the model, and change the user pin values to thosenames.To create a custom symbol <strong>for</strong> a DWMM model, use the procedure outlined <strong>for</strong>Smart<strong>Models</strong>: see “Custom Symbols” on page 144.Required DWMM Symbol PropertiesThe following symbol properties are required to interface with a DWMM model:●●●●modelpinpintypeswift_templateRefer to Table 20 <strong>for</strong> in<strong>for</strong>mation about the required symbol properties.
