All the rèpas in the assŒsa passŒsacittaja sadda navaka kalŒpa and the utuja sadda navaka kalŒpa aresuitable for vipassanŒ contemplation.Discerning <strong>The</strong> Four Lakkhaöa RèpasOnly when you are able <strong>to</strong> discern the rèpas present at the timeof conception and development of the embryo in the womb, willyou be able <strong>to</strong> discern upacaya (growth of matter). As for santati,jaratŒ, and aniccatŒ they are just the arising, standing, and passingaway of the real rèpas of the six sense bases or 42 parts of thebody. After that discern the arising, standing, and passing awayof all the real rèpas present in the six sense bases and 42 parts ofthe body all at once. <strong>The</strong> rèpa kalŒpas do not all arise, stand, andpass away simultaneously; they are not in phase.<strong>The</strong> Time For Contemplating As ÒRèpaÓFirstly discern separately in each of the six sense bases the 54or 44 real rèpas present. <strong>The</strong>n try also <strong>to</strong> discern in each as muchof the not real rèpas as you can. <strong>The</strong>n discern all the rèpas in onebase all <strong>to</strong>gether according <strong>to</strong> their characteristic of being molestedby change. <strong>The</strong>n taking all the rèpas in each base <strong>to</strong>gethercontemplate them as ÒRèpa, rèpaÓ or Ò<strong>The</strong>se are rèpaÓ or Ò<strong>The</strong>seare rèpa dhammasÓ. You can do the same for each of the 42 partsof the body.
