w 120interspersed like rice flour and wheat flour mixed together. In theeye there are two kinds of transparent elements mixed together; theeye transparent element and body transparent element. This meansthat the cakkhu dasaka rèpa kalŒpas and kŒya dasaka rèpa kalŒpasare interspersed. The kŒya dasaka kalŒpas which contain bodytransparent element are found spread throughout the six sense basesand are interspersed with the cakkhu dasaka kalŒpas in the eye, withthe sota dasaka kalŒpas in the ear, with the ghŒna dasaka kalŒpas inthe nose, with the jivhŒ dasaka kalŒpas in the tongue, and with thehadaya dasaka kalŒpas in the heart. BhŒva dasaka kalŒpas whichcontain bhŒva as the tenth factor are also spread throughout the sixsense bases and are also interspersed with the transparent elementkalŒpas. To be able to see this you will need to begin to analyse therèpas of the transparent elements.Eye transparent element = cakkhu pasŒda: The eye transparentelement is sensitive to the impinging of colour whereas the bodytransparent element is sensitive to the impinging of touch. This differencein sensitivity to objects allows you to analyse and knowwhich is eye transparent element and which is body transparentelement. Firstly discern the four elements in the organ of the eye anddiscern the transparent rèpa kalŒpas. Then look at the colour of arèpa kalŒpa that is nearby to it. If you see that colour impinge on thetransparent element which you chose then it is a eye transparentelement and the rèpa kalŒpas in that eye transparent element arecakkhu dasaka kalŒpas. If that colour does not impinge on thetransparent element you are looking at, then it is not an eye transparentelement. It must be a body transparent element because there areonly two types of transparent element in the eye.Body transparent element = kŒya pasŒda: The body transparentelement is sensitive to the impinging of touch which is the earth, fire, and air elements. Discern the transparent rèpa kalŒpas. Then look atthe earth, fire, or air element of a rèpa kalŒpa that is nearby to it. If
