Crude oil acquisitions were exclusively carried out through the Group trading <strong>com</strong>pany Vector Energy, which also has taken over the greatest part of gasoline <strong>and</strong> gasoil volumes sold on external markets. The quality of the products sold by <strong>Rompetrol</strong> met the environmental st<strong>and</strong>ards in the EU countries <strong>and</strong> led to the consolidation of the <strong>com</strong>pany position <strong>and</strong> presence on traditional reference markets in the petroleum field. Sales in 2010 were lower than in the previous year as a result of revamping <strong>and</strong> overhaul works, performed at Petromidia Refinery, as well as due to the effects of social volatility <strong>and</strong> global economics. The Community space absorbed more than 24% from the total amount of sold finished products <strong>and</strong> the 76% difference represents export sales on non-<strong>com</strong>munity markets. Almost 70% of the external sales were directed towards European markets, located in Romania’s proximity.
