How long doesit take you toget ready in themorning? If I’m not going tomeetings or doing a TVappearance then I canget ready in half an hour.I’ll just cleanse, tone andmoisturise, apply a touchof blusher and lippie, brush my hair or tie itback, then I’m ready todress and go. I’m veryorganised, which helps! What’s yourfavourite fragrance? There are so many, I have a wholewardrobe on my dressing table. Atthe moment I’m using Feerie byVan Cleef & Arpels; Aura, the newSwarovski fragrance and L’Agentby Agent Provocateur. I’m also a fanof Versace, plus Chanel No 5 andChanel Chance. Which one I choosedepends entirely on my mood. What is your favourite scenton a man?Again I don’t have just onepreference. The latest I bought formy husband Philip include scentsfrom Moshino and Prada and the newChanel Allure Homme Sport.Do you have afavourite beauty store? My favourite department store isSelfridges because it’s in walkingdistance of where I live. When I goshopping which isn’t as often as I’dlike I try to make a whole day of it.Selfridges is good because they’vegot everything I need and I like tobrowse all the departments. It’s gota relaxed atmosphere. Most of all Ilove clothes shopping. If it was anOlympic sport I’d win the gold medalfor England. No contest.Do you havea beauty secret?I’ve always used a goodmiosturiser, La Prairie, andreligiously cleanse, toneand nourish every day. Ialso exfoliate from top-totoeonce a week. How do youlike to pamper?I love to go to a health farm, but veryrarely get the time. My diary’s so jampacked. I can’t remember the lasttime I had a facial but I’d love one. IfI could get a day off I’d treat myselfto a spa day – then I’d have the lot:Facial, body massage, manicure andpedicure, I’d go through the wholemenu. My favourite beauty salon isSkin Oasis - it’s fantastic, the best inLondon. (Skin Oasis, 25-27 GeorgeStreet, W1U 3QA Tel: 020 3411 1342).What’s yourbiggest beauty treat?Sleep! But I rarely get more thanfour hours a night. That’s my biggestproblem, I’m so busy working I don’tget enough time for myself. If I couldget it I’d absolutely love to sleep for 14hours, at a stretch. That would be theultimate beauty treat!Who does your hair?I don’t go to a famous, named salonbut I do have a regular hairdresserwho’s always available for me,when I need her.Do you havea beauty problem? My eyes. They are very sensitive, which is why I only ever wearauthentic sunglasses with reallyhigh quality lenses to protect myeyes from the sun. I’ve got a wholewardrobe of sunglasses and I wearthem whenever I’m outside, all yearround. It’s not a vanity thing. Peoplemight think I’m being a bit of a poser, but I’m not. Because my eyes are sosensitive, they need protecting. It’salso one of the reasons why I don’tlike to have my makeup applied bymakeup artists I’m not familiar withbecause they tend to dragthe skin around my eyestoo much. It may bea Piscean thing! Mymum who was also aPisces suffered withsensitive eyes too.It was a problemwhen they werefilming Dragons’Den as I reallysuffered withthe hot studio lights. I also havedifficulty swimming, it’s also one ofthe reasons I can’t swim underwater, because the water stings myeyes so much. What is your beautyritual before bed?I religiously cleanse, tone andmoisturise. I always have andalways will. Then I popon my pyjamas - myfavourites, fromPrima and Marks& Spencer, haveslogans saying‘beauty sleepin progress’and ‘do notdisturb’. I liketo feel warmand cosy;you can’t beatpyjamas for that.Dragon’s Den is onBBC 2, Sunday evenings. For more information onHilary’s charitable projects, including Syke, check out www.hilarydevey.comesprit october 201100
