This regional approach to healthprovides the scale we require to deliver better, sooner, more convenient healthcare to the totalMidlands population.The network focuses on putting the primacy back into primary care. It focuses on the role of primarycare as being truly critical and belonging at the forefront of a patient’s healthcare.It comprises several components:• A One Plan environment.• Regional Referral Centre*.• Introducing a newly developed commissioning tool to facilitate needs analysis andservice planning.• Central Co-ordinated Education Network.• 12 Regional Promises to the Midlands Population.• A managed communication programme promoting population health outcomes*.• A strategy aimed at creating an IT ready workforce of digital dinosaurs capable of working withdigital natives.• A Periodic Service Review System.*Solutions apply to the total population of Midlands regardless of the PHO with which they are enrolled.The team who will drive the implementation of the Midlands Regional Network are:• Hauora Taranaki• Lake Taupo PHO• Peak Health Taranaki• Pinnacle Group Limited22
