In such cases the Checkout option will notbe available from the menus. Acquiring information about the checked-out dataslices using the View checkouts options is useful.In the View menu the option ‘View Checkouts’ is available. When clicking thisoption, by default all checkouts by the current user are displayed for thiscollection as shown in Figure 3-5.Figure 3-5: Viewing CheckoutsThe viewing of checkouts can be very useful when wanting to acquire anoverview of the data that the user has checked out. Details of a specific checkoutsuch as checked out parameters or dimension elements can be displayed here. Acheckbox is available that enables including the checkouts of other users to theoverview. This means that when clicking on a checkout, the tablewill show the exact selection of the checked out data in the Table browser. Thiscan enable acquiring a good idea of which data is checked out, either by you orby another user.Check-ins can be viewed in a similar fashion, but these offer some more optionsas will be discussed in section 3.6.3.3.4 Undo check-outIt may be desirable to ‘Undo’ a checkout rather than checking in a data file. Thiscan happen for instance when no data has changed in comparison to the original(checked-out) data or because the data part was checked out in error, forinstance because of selecting the wrong country. The option Undo check-out willperform the action of cancelling the checkout of data; there will be no data orhistory changes and no metadata need to be assigned.After clicking the option in the main menu, the window will show all checkouts ofthe user for the current collection including other data tables, as shown in Figure3-6. The Undo checkout option is available from the main menu when a user haschecked out some part of the collection, not necessarily in the current table.Figure 3-6: The undo checkout window allows selecting checked out datasetsWhen selecting the Undo checkout option through the right click menu, the rangefor the undo checkout options is limited to the selected table. Please note thatthe Undo checkout option is not available when right clicking a cell that ischecked out by another user.
