Year 11 and Year 12 will again be part of the Fremantle Soup Patrol with the Red Cross (Parent Co-‐ordinator: Sally Jones and Tania Dillon-‐Ingrilli). Another new project is being finalised which will involve 3 families from Yrs 10/11/12 buying, preparing and serving meals to families staying at the Ronald McDonald House (Parent Co-‐ordinator: Cathy Donaldson). Linley thanked the Auxiliary for their continued support. Lisa Phinney has taken on the role of Service Co-‐ordinator for the Junior School. Boarding House News – Julie Murray spoke about the transition the new boarders are going through, getting used to their new surroundings and routines, though some girls are feeling homesick. There are plenty of outings to the movies, shopping or other social functions and they also meet with other boarding houses around Perth. A question regarding Day Girls being able to see where boarders lived was raised and debated. Parents’ Committee – Siobhan Rollinson and Lisa Phinney attended the Parents’ Committee meeting to bring some cohesiveness and union between the two parent groups. Lisa said that the two main items of interest were (a) the Parent Sundowner had a record attendance and was a great event and (b) that Parents’ Committee subscriptions were down. It may be that parents are unaware of what the $35 payment is used for or what the Parents’ Committee does.

Lisa also mentioned the Book Appeal which is a whole school event, but with her role in the Junior School, she is encouraging donations for the Book Appeal to be made on Wednesday, March 28. The Appeal is to provide books, board games, and small toys in good-‐to-‐lightly-‐used condition for Indigenous children. The goal is for each girl to bring in 1 item. There will be Parent Volunteers in the JS slipway on March 28 th to help if girls are donating large amounts of goods. There will be further information closer to the day. 7. General Business City/Country Lunch should be booked through TryBooking. Chavaune Francis said that only 7 parents had booked by last Friday. If numbers remain low the event will be cancelled. Outdoor Cinema Evening is going ahead with a full complement of volunteers; parents need to book through TryBooking. Chris Hedges proposed that the money from the Lolly Stall, which is about $120, be donated to the Tanzania Appeal (whose target is $20,000). All members agreed. 8. Other Business Sally Simpson wanted to explain what was involved in becoming a Year Representative in Yr 10/11/12. The Year 10s help with the Sundowner, purchasing ingredients for, making and serving sandwiches. (Yr 4 also helps out, usually with serving of drinks). Year 11 hold the Dance and parents set up and organise decorations whilst teachers supervise. Liaise with the school regarding the Valedictory Dinner for Year 12. Year 12 enjoy the Valedictory/Dance. Siobhan Rollinson suggested that these details be included in the Auxiliary Guidelines (Community Relations to include). Sally mentioned that the Father/ Daughter Dance, which has only been going for the last 3 years, be saved for when the girls reach Year 12. Abi Boyle mentioned that the Redkite Charity fundraiser Fashion Parade was coming up and that Year groups might like to organise tickets. Redkite supports children with cancer. Fiona Lang is New Parent Liaison Rep for Yr 7-‐9 together with Mandy Perrignon in the Junior School and Sue Jonklaas for Years 10-‐12; they are the first parent contact/buddy for new families, and are especially relevant when families miss Orientation. The next BIG Tennis Morning will be Thursday, May 3 rd ; otherwise every Monday morning at Allen Park Tennis Club, Swanbourne. Denise Alcock wanted to resolve traffic problems surrounding the school. Clearways are notoriously parked in and the Shire of Peppermint Grove is from time to time asked to enforce the Clearways. Parents need to be made aware. There is NO Right Turn into sliproads, even though there is no signage. A right turn into the staff car park is allowed so that parking can be provided on the Tennis Courts. At the moment there are a lot of building works in McNeil, View and Forrest Streets, which are causing problems.

Fiona Lang suggested that the shuttle from Cottesloe Train Station also be made available in the afternoons to run students back to the train station. Keith Anderson said it was difficult with the girls differing finishing times and that providing a bus meant timing was crucial. Ashley Dry said that because there was no Coastal Transperth Bus Service, a shuttle from the Terminus at Cottesloe to PLC would be very advantageous. It would mean that many parents wouldn’t have to enter the traffic jams surrounding the school. Shabnam Riaz suggested the use of the Tennis Courts as a slip road for Yrs 5 and 6. Golf Day – Denise Alcock happy to organize. Expressions of Interest sought for possible dates in May, June or before July holidays. First Aid Course – Kim Dorset volunteered to organise. Expressions of Interest sought for interest in attending. 9. Next Meeting Tuesday March 27 at 9am
