Major Subject: Requirements are listed separately in the catalog by departmentor degree program. To establish a major sequence and to qualify for graduation,the student must have spent at least two semesters and have accumulated a minimumof 30 semester hours as a student in a degree program.B. Transfer Credit: Except with the approval of the department chair or degreeprogram coordinator, no upper-division course in the major taken at another institutionwill be counted toward meeting the requirements of the degree program.C. Grade-Point Average: All departments and degree programs in the Collegerequire at least a 2.0 (C) cumulative grade-point average for admission; some departmentsor programs may require a higher cumulative grade-point average. Credit Hours: A total of 1 28 hours is required for the Bachelor of Arts degree.The Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Geology, and Statisticsrequires 134 hours; in Chemistry and Physics, 136 hours.Academic MinorsSeveral departments in the College of Arts and Sciences offer formal academicminors for students in Arts and Sciences degree programs. If a student successfullycompletes the requirements for a formal minor, this will be recorded on the student'sofficial record and will appear on transcripts.Requirements for academic minors are set by the department offering the minor.A formal minor must include at least 15 hours of course work with a minimum of ninehours at the upper division level (course number of 100 or above).
