Other Admission CategoriesTransient Students Coming to WVUIf you want to take a course at WVU and have the credit transferred to anothercollege or university, you will need a statement of good standing or your officialtranscript from the last college you attended.ReadmissionIf you leave the <strong>University</strong> for at least one complete semester, you are required tosubmit an application for readmission to the Office of Admissions and Records.Decisions on readmission are based on your <strong>West</strong> <strong>Virginia</strong> <strong>University</strong> record togetherwith that earned at any other institution attended after leaving WVU. If you are in goodstanding upon review of these records, you are eligible for readmission.if you are transferring credit from institutions outside the <strong>West</strong> <strong>Virginia</strong> system ofhigher education, WVU will accept credit only for courses in which you earned a gradeof C or higher, provided the other conditions have been met.If you have been suspended from the <strong>University</strong>, you must be reinstated by thedean of the school or college to which you wish to be admitted before you apply forreadmission.If you have been suspended for academic reasons and take courses at otherinstitutions during your suspension, you cannot automatically transfer these courses toWVU upon readmission. You must achieve an overall GPA of 2.0 (C average or betterfor at least 12 hours) after your readmission in order to have the appropriate creditentered on your record. The dean of your college or school and your adviser mustcertify that these conditions have been met.Second or Multiple DegreesWVU StudentsTo earn a second bachelor's degree, you must earn at least 30 credits beyond therequirements for your first degree. You must satisfy all requirements, departmental andotherwise, for the second degree. You cannot receive a second bachelor's degree ifyou have not met the <strong>University</strong>'s residence requirements (see "Requirements as toResidence").if you want to earn two baccalaureate degrees at the same graduation date, youmust satisfactorily complete at least 158 credits and meet all requirements, departmentaland otherwise, of both degree programs. Furthermore, you must provide theOffice of Admissions and Records written proof that you do, in fact, have the approvalof both colleges or schools.Transfer StudentsIf you want to earn a second bachelor's degree, you must submit anundergraduate application and official transcripts from all institutions previouslyattended. The Office of Admissions and Records can only accept transcripts sent fromthe registrars' offices of these institutions and cannot accept transcripts issued directlyto you. In general, admission is granted on the basis of a cumulative grade-pointaverage of at least 2.0 in the first baccalaureate degree. Selected majors, such asengineering, business and economics, and education, have higher requirements. Afteryou are admitted, the individual department evaluates your transcript and applies anyappropriate credit from the first baccalaureate toward completion of the second.Post-Baccalaureate StudentsStudents with one or more earned degrees from an approved college or university(including WVU) who want to enroll for undergraduate credit may be admitted as postbaccalaureatestudents. Students admitted in this category are not working toward agraduate degree, and credit earned while under this classification is limited to undergraduatecredit.
