The overall hygienic quality of the 60°Cprogramme is better than the quality of the 40°C programme (ANOVA-OneWay, α = 0.05). Using the40°C process, the reduction on the diaper and the dishcloth is obvious, but thebacteria are again spread throughout the washing machine. The result wasabout the same for Staphylococcus aureus. The 60°C washing process removesall bacteria, whereas the 40°C process spreads them around. No Bacillior fungi were found after washing at both 40°C and 60°C and the amounts ofyeast were very low.
