That is, they are usedexclusively by the household itselfDef<strong>in</strong>itions:.- A “wash<strong>in</strong>g mach<strong>in</strong>e” is <strong>an</strong> electrical mach<strong>in</strong>e for wash<strong>in</strong>g <strong>of</strong> textiles.- A “tumble drier” is <strong>an</strong> electrical mach<strong>in</strong>e for dry<strong>in</strong>g <strong>of</strong> textiles.Question 3:This question is addressed to household who do not dispose <strong>of</strong> a private wash<strong>in</strong>g mach<strong>in</strong>e, <strong>an</strong>dlists alternative ways <strong>of</strong> h<strong>an</strong>dl<strong>in</strong>g <strong>laundry</strong>..Def<strong>in</strong>itions:- A “wash<strong>in</strong>g mach<strong>in</strong>e owned by several households” is a mach<strong>in</strong>e that is shared by severalhouseholds, for example a hous<strong>in</strong>g co-operative.- A “co<strong>in</strong> <strong>laundry</strong>” is a place where you rent a wash<strong>in</strong>g mach<strong>in</strong>e.- A “cle<strong>an</strong>er” is a place where pr<strong>of</strong>essionals wash or dry your clothes.Question 5 & 7:These questions measure the number <strong>of</strong> times a person is wear<strong>in</strong>g various garments before theyare washed. Because a person c<strong>an</strong> wear several outfits dur<strong>in</strong>g one day (for <strong>in</strong>st<strong>an</strong>ce for work<strong>an</strong>d leisure time), we w<strong>an</strong>t to use the term “times” rather th<strong>an</strong> for example “days”.Question 9:This question identifies wash<strong>in</strong>g temperatures used when wash<strong>in</strong>g <strong>laundry</strong>.
