He, and the <strong>National</strong> <strong>Audit</strong> <strong>Office</strong>,are totally <strong>in</strong>dependent of Government.He certifies the accounts of all Governmentdepartments and a wide range of other publicsector bodies; and he has statutory authorityto report to Parliament on theeconomy, efficiency and effectivenesswith which departments and other bodieshave used their resources.Our work saves the taxpayer millions ofpounds every year.
