Eachstorey is made up of three optical module and the electronics, each OM containsa PMT (PhotoMultiplier Tube), tilted downward at an angle of 45 ◦ to maximizeupward going Cherenkov tracks. totaling up in 885 OMs (Figure 3.10 ). Each lineis connected to the sea floor via an anchor, and all are connected via electro-opticalcable to the junction box which itself is connected to the offshore station by anidentical electro-optical cable.
