In her firsttwo seasons, Roof led a dramatic turnaroundin the team’s success. In 2005-2006, Roof’s Spartans finished 14-13, doubling their wins fromthe previous season. The 2006-2007 season was even betterfor the Spartans as they finished the year with a 17-9 record,good enough for a second place tie in the inaugural year ofthe Northern Athletics Conference. Last year’s campaign wassimilar to her first, as Roof guided a freshman-dominatedteam to a 13-13 record overall, including an 11-7 finish in theNAC.Prior to her one-year stint at Lewis University as anassistant, Roof spent two years as an assistant at Saint Mary’sUniversity (MN) and one season at Grinnell College (IA).While at St. Mary’s, she directed the “Lil’ Cardinals” youthbasketball club and clinics.Roof played two seasons at Eastern Illinois University(Division I) before spending a season as a student assistantcoach for the Panthers.
