Nei<strong>the</strong>r ought it to be thought any confiderableobjedion to <strong>the</strong> contrary, becaufe <strong>the</strong> Platonifts, Pythagoreans, <strong>and</strong>o<strong>the</strong>r Pagan <strong>the</strong>ologers, did not expre<strong>is</strong> th<strong>is</strong> <strong>the</strong>ir trinity, in <strong>the</strong> very words<strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Athanafian Creed, nor according to <strong>the</strong> form <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Nicene council.Forafmuch as th<strong>is</strong> myftery was gradu<strong>all</strong>y imparted to <strong>the</strong> world, <strong>and</strong> thatfirft but fparingly to <strong>the</strong> Hebrews <strong>the</strong>mfelves, ei<strong>the</strong>r in <strong>the</strong>ir written or oralcabala •, but afterwards more fully under Chriftianity, <strong>the</strong> whole frame where<strong>of</strong>was built <strong>the</strong>reupon.
