TERMS &CONDITIONSThe client agrees to abide bythese terms and conditionswhen payment for booking ismade.Alcohol Visitors may bring their own alcoholinto the Zoo (except where a fully cateredfor function has been organized with LibertyCatering Concepts, our on-site caterers) orpurchase from designated catering outletswithin the Zoo grounds. Please restrictconsumption to your reserved area. Personswalking around the Zoo drinking alcohol willbe asked to leave, as will persons creating anuisance to other visitors or animals and/or inan intoxicated condition.Barbeques There are no barbeque facilitiesavailable to the general public. Visitors areprohibited from bringing barbeques intothe Zoo.Catering Visitors may choose from a rangeof public catering options provided by LibertyCatering Concepts including the Lakeside Bistroor take-away kiosks. Liberty Catering Conceptscan also customize a catering package to suitthe specific needs of your group. Allamusements must be weighted, not peggedinto the turf. Mobile amusement companiesoperating in the Zoo must be accredited with theAssociation of Mobile Amusements of Victoria.All mobile amusement operators must visit theZoo for a site inspection prior to the day of thefunction.A certificate of currency providing publicliability cover for up to $10,000,000 must beprovided to Zoo management by all amusementoperators one week prior to the date of thefunction.Gifts Please consider the environment of theZoo, possible dangers to the animals and thelisted restrictions when choosing gifts for yourfunction. See prohibited items.Ice Ice must not be disposed of on garden bedsor lawn areas as it contains significant amountsof salt that is damaging to plants and grass.Please dispose of in a drain or outside theproperty.Liability Melbourne Zoo does not acceptresponsibility for loss or damage to client orvisitor property left prior, during or after a visitor event.The client/visitor will be responsible for anydamage caused by their guests or contractorsto Zoo property, and will be charged for anyrepair or replacement as deemed necessary byZoo management.Lost Property All goods and equipment broughtin by the hirer must be removed from the Zoogrounds at the end of the visit. Any uncollecteditems will be held in lost property for a periodof one month. Unclaimed items after one monthwill be disposed of at the discretion of Zoomanagement.Marquees Marquees are permitted ondesignated lawn areas on the condition thatthey are weighted, not pegged into the turf. Allvisitors wishing to set up marquees must discusstheir requirements, and obtain approval fromZoo management prior to the date of the event.Contact the Zoo’s preferred supplier InstantShade on 1800 083 300 or www.instantshade.com.au to hire a marquee.Media Under our regulations, media are notpermitted on-site without prior permission fromthe Zoo. Our Media Relations Officer can becontacted on 03 9285 9487.Noise Level Please refrain from the use of loudspeakers and similar equipment unless throughorganised entertainment.Prohibited Items In the interests of animaland visitor safety, the following items arenot allowed in the Zoo grounds: Domesticanimals, however assistance dogs are accepted.Balloons, balls, barbeques, bikes, fireworks,frisbees, jumping castles, PA systems, partypoppers, roller blades, scooters, skateboards,toy guns, water pistols, whistles and sportingequipment of any kind.Signs Groups may not erect or place signs in theoutdoor venues without prior approval from Zoomanagement.Storage It is the responsibility of the hirer tobring in any special equipment and/or goods onthe day of the function, and to remove from thepremises at the conclusion.Vehicle Access & Deliveries Vehicle access todeliver &/or pick up equipment/food etc. forfunctions is available between 8.30am and9.00am for delivery; 4.30pm and 5.00pm forpick up. This must be pre arranged before theday. Vehicles entering the Zoo MUST NOT beparked within the Zoo grounds and MUST EXITthe grounds & re-enter at the designated times.Please note that there are no storage facilitiesavailable.
