In some situations, the use of the trephine is also recommended for removing anyremaining tissue that may prevent the implant holders from reaching the correct depth. Pilot drilling to physical stopAccording to your planning, use the correct pilot drill for the correct osteotomy and performthe drilling until the physical stop touches the tube. Take the necessary precautions to coolthe drill during drilling. As soon as the physical stop touches the drilling tube, the correct drilldepth has been obtained. It is strongly recommended not to use excessive forces to push theplatform onto the drilling cylinders. This action can cause extreme heating of the tube and drillbecause of excessive friction, and may cause difficulties in removing the drilling cylinderafterwards. Repeat the pilot drilling process for all the osteotomies to be created.SURGICAL PROCEDURESFig. 5: Pilot drilling to physical stop 178www.SimPlant.comSurgiGuide Cookbook
