Protocol to fabricate Protocol a scan prothesis to fabricate a scan prosthesisThis document describes a procedure for the fabrication of a scan prosthesis, which is aradiopaque duplicate of the provisional teeth set-up. When the patient is scanned with thescan prosthesis, the desired tooth set-up is clearly visible in the CT images. This enhancesthe surgeon’s ability to plan the implant placement based on both clinical and aestheticconsiderations. SimPlant is the dental planning software of Materialise, which uses highquality CT images for pre-operative planning of dental implants. A properly prepared scanprosthesis is necessary in order to obtain high quality images. The procedure for fabricating ascan prosthesis is described in detail to provide guidelines for its proper preparation. First astandard protocol is described for the purpose of ordering a standard bone supportedSurgiGuide.
