REGENTS’ POLICY MANUALSECTION 7 – UNIVERSITY DEVELOPMENTNo University <strong>of</strong>ficial may request or receive any money grant or award from The University <strong>of</strong>Oklahoma Foundation, Inc., unless said request has been authorized by the President. Requests for suchfunds shall be reviewed and approved by the appropriate dean or director, the appropriate campusexecutive <strong>of</strong>ficer, and the President. Upon authorization by the President, the request shall be forwardedto the President <strong>of</strong> The University <strong>of</strong> Oklahoma Foundation, Inc., for action.This policy does not prohibit cash advances that are contractual arrangements between the Universityand The University <strong>of</strong> Oklahoma Foundation, Inc., which are covered by contracts approved byUniversity Legal Counsel and authorized by the Board <strong>of</strong> Regents, nor does it prohibit short term (180days or less) cash advances that The University <strong>of</strong> Oklahoma Foundation, Inc., might provide aUniversity department or college to meet a temporary cash flow requirement (e.g., football bowl gameexpenses pending receipt <strong>of</strong> conference allocation, immediate settle-up with promoters for concerts heldat Lloyd Noble Center, international travel, student group travel).Additional information is available through The University <strong>of</strong> Oklahoma Foundation Inc.’s printedand online publication, “Guidelines For Use <strong>of</strong> Foundation Funds.”(RM, 3-21-95, p. 24298; 12-02-03, p. 28868)THE UNIVERSITY OF OKLAHOMA 317
