REGENTS’ POLICY MANUALSECTION 5—UNIVERSITY COMMUNITY2) The highest priority in disbursing the program portion <strong>of</strong> the Student Activity Feefunds should be those student activities (educational, social, and recreational) whichhave substantial campus-wide effects. The funding <strong>of</strong> student organizations shall bediscontinued except in those instances in which projects sponsored by a certainorganization are deemed to have great significance for a substantial segment <strong>of</strong> thestudent community.3) The Undergraduate Student Congress and the Graduate Senate, should they ascertainthat certain needs exist which cannot be resolved within a single budget year, mayrecommend to the President and to the Board <strong>of</strong> Regents that an amount be obligatedfor a period <strong>of</strong> time (2 or more years) in order to fulfill the existing need. Throughsuch action, very significant projects (recreational equipment and facilities, forexample) may be achieved. It is recommended that a standing committee <strong>of</strong> theUndergraduate Student Congress and <strong>of</strong> the Graduate Student Senate be establishedto work with the University Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean <strong>of</strong> Studentsin identifying such needs and in determining priorities.4) No UOSA funds may be utilized in funding the Student Traffic Court.
