REGENTS’ POLICY MANUALSECTION 4—FINANCE AND MANAGEMENTLEGAL ACTION TO COLLECT ACCOUNTSThe Board of Regents authorizes the Office of Legal Counsel to institute suit in the name of theBoard of Regents to collect accounts due and owing to the University, and to compromise or settle saidsuits upon such terms and conditions as the General Counsel believes to be in the best interests of theUniversity.The University Collection Division, under the authority of the Office of Legal Counsel, is responsiblefor recovery of delinquent student accounts receivable and student loans that require litigation orcollection agency referral.
