REGENTS’ POLICY MANUALSECTION 3—GENERAL POLICIESEXAMPLES OF PROHIBITED CONDUCTConduct prohibited by this policy may include, but is not limited to:• Unwelcome sexual flirtation; advances or propositions for sexual activity.• Continued or repeated verbal abuse <strong>of</strong> a sexual nature, such as suggestive comments andsexually explicit jokes.• Sexually degrading language to describe an individual.• Remarks <strong>of</strong> a sexual nature to describe a person’s body or clothing.• Display <strong>of</strong> sexually demeaning objects or pictures.• Offensive physical contact, such as unwelcome touching, pinching, brushing against thebody.• Coerced sexual intercourse.• Sexual assault.• Rape, date or acquaintance rape, or other sex <strong>of</strong>fenses, forcible or nonforcible.• Actions indicating that benefits will be gained or lost based on response to sexual advances.RETALIATIONAny attempt to penalize or retaliate against a person for filing a complaint or participating in theinvestigation <strong>of</strong> a complaint <strong>of</strong> sexual harassment will be treated as a separate and distinct violation <strong>of</strong>this policy.SANCTIONSAppropriate disciplinary action may include a range <strong>of</strong> actions up to and including dismissal and/orexpulsion.COMPLAINT PROCEDUREComplaints alleging a violation <strong>of</strong> the Sexual Harassment/Sexual Assault Policy shall be handled inaccordance with the Grievance Procedure For Equal Opportunity.
