REGENTS’ POLICY MANUALSECTION 2—ACADEMICS2.11.2—PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE PLANSThe policies for operation and governance <strong>of</strong> the pr<strong>of</strong>essional practice plans <strong>of</strong> the various HealthSciences Center colleges are printed in full in appendices <strong>of</strong> the Health Sciences Center FacultyHandbook.2.11.3—COLLEGE OF MEDICINEADMISSIONS BOARD, COLLEGE OF MEDICINEThe Admissions Board <strong>of</strong> the College <strong>of</strong> Medicine shall be composed as follows:• 10 members <strong>of</strong> the full-time faculty• 10 members <strong>of</strong> the volunteer faculty• 10 members <strong>of</strong> the student body <strong>of</strong> the College <strong>of</strong> MedicineTwenty-four members also will be selected from throughout the state, to include four physicians fromeach <strong>of</strong> the six congressional districts in the state who shall be selected by the various county medicalassociations within each <strong>of</strong> the respective congressional districts, the selection to be coordinated by themember or members <strong>of</strong> the Board <strong>of</strong> Directors <strong>of</strong> the Oklahoma State Medical Association who residewithin the respective congressional districts.(RM, 5-8-75, pp. 13427-28)NON–RESIDENT STUDENTS, COLLEGE OF MEDICINEWithin the total class enrollment limits set by the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education, theColleges <strong>of</strong> Medicine may admit up to 15% or 20 (whichever is larger) out-<strong>of</strong>-state students per year.Approved by Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education, <strong>June</strong> 26, 1989.(RM, 7-20-89, p. 21277)SITE OF PRACTICE POLICY, COLLEGE OF MEDICINEThe purpose <strong>of</strong> the Site <strong>of</strong> Practice Policy is to concentrate ongoing patient care by the full-timefaculty <strong>of</strong> the College <strong>of</strong> Medicine in those hospitals and other practice sites in which the major teachingand research programs <strong>of</strong> the College <strong>of</strong> Medicine are based. The patient care activities <strong>of</strong> the facultymay occur in any <strong>of</strong> the health care entities which comprise the Oklahoma Health Center in OklahomaCity, the Tulsa Medical Education Foundation hospitals in Tulsa, and University-owned or-operatedpractice sites under the organizational structure <strong>of</strong> HCA Health Services <strong>of</strong> Oklahoma, Inc. d/b/a OUMedical Center and its successors which support the academic programs <strong>of</strong> the College and which canprovide the technical environment necessary for modern, high-grade medical care and teaching.THE UNIVERSITY OF OKLAHOMA 165
