<strong>June</strong> <strong>22</strong>-<strong>23</strong>, <strong>2004</strong>2.3.4.1—Grounds for Abrogation <strong>of</strong> Tenure, Dismissal, and Other Severe Sanctions*Although not considered severe sanctions, (e) and (f) are proper reasons for dismissal <strong>of</strong> a faculty member who hastenure or whose tenure-track or non-tenure track term has not expired.3.1.1—Personnel Actions• Appointments, salaries, and other changes for members <strong>of</strong> the faculty who are non-tenuretrack, not tenured, or not eligible for tenure, whether part-time or full-time, unless fulltimeequivalent salary for the academic year will be $60,000 or more.Deleted: or consecutive term3.1.6.1—AdministrativeAn administrative leave with pay may be given when it is determined to be in the University'sbest interest that an employee not return to work for a specified period <strong>of</strong> time or for designatedemergency closings <strong>of</strong> the University. Recommendations for administrative leave must besubmitted to the President or the President’s designee for approval.3.1.12—Prevention <strong>of</strong> Alcohol Abuse and Drug Use on Campus and in the WorkplaceThe federal Drug-Free Workplace Act enacted into law in 1988 requires that any entity seekingto be considered to receive a grant from any federal agency, and any entity seeking to beawarded a contract for the procurement <strong>of</strong> any property or services <strong>of</strong> a value <strong>of</strong> $25,000 or morefrom any federal agency, certify to the Federal granting or contracting agency that it will providea drug-free workplace.3.1.13—Firearms PolicyB) Firearms are permitted on campus only under the following circumstances:1) In the possession or control <strong>of</strong> sworn law enforcement <strong>of</strong>ficers or properlylicensed armed security guards employed by the University who are performingtheir assigned duties. The Director <strong>of</strong> Campus Police must approve in advancethe use or employment <strong>of</strong> armed private security providers.6) For use as a teaching aid, subject to the following conditions:a) Permission for such use must be granted by the academic dean and priorwritten notice <strong>of</strong> the presence <strong>of</strong> the firearm on campus must be given to theDirector <strong>of</strong> Campus Police.Deleted: department chair/headb) Such firearms must be approved and secured by means acceptable to theDirector <strong>of</strong> Campus Police.c) Except for recognized University shooting ranges and while under authorizedsupervision, munitions shall not be present with firearms when used in class.10) The Rogers State University President has the authority to make exceptions tothe above provisions when appropriate to further the University’s mission.10.1
